Diesel filler lock
harnser 2

Way back in 2003 I lost some diesel while on our home moorings which resulted in me running out going up the Hatton Flight (see trip report) and with diesel costing 4 times as much as it did then I decided to fit a lock to the filler.
The filler on Harnser is the common brass screw cap let straight into the top of the diesel tank set in a recess to prevent any spillage while refuelling entering the boat.
The locking arrangement consists of a stainless steel ring that has a standard stainless hasp welded to it. The ring sits between the brass filler and the top of the tank with the filler fixing screws passing through it, the hasp is then closed over the filler and a padlock passed through the staple that is welded to the head of a stainless steel screw that is one of the filler fixing screws.
